Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for Merchant

A Court on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrant for Sarfraz Merchant, who had returned two days ago to record statement to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the Altaf Hussain's money laundering case. Judicial Magistrate South heard a fraud case against Merchant and ordered concerned authorities to produce him before the court on April 21.
A case was registered against Merchant in Darakhshan Police Station. A challan filed by the police describes Merchant as a fugitive. Complainant has alleged Merchant of threatening to file a bogus case, receiving Rs 12 crore and snatching his car on March 12, 2014. On Monday, Merchant reached Islamabad to record his statement to Federal Investigation Agency against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain in money laundering case.
