Idrees Nisar of Rawalpindi Golf Club won the 5th Chief of Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cup that concluded here at Margalla Greens Golf Club, Islamabad. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah graced the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest.
While addressing the ceremony, Chief of the Naval Staff said that undoubtedly Pakistan has enormous potential and talent in sports and Pakistan Navy has always strived to encourage them and remained at the forefront in promoting sports in the country, especially the golf.
The amazing game of golf presently adopts/uses the latest technology which is basically a combination of the powerful mental and physical techniques. Mastering the basic golf techniques and tactical skills are vital to achieving improvement in golf and complimenting with practice, it ends up maximising your golfing success.
The Naval Chief also said that conduct of CNS Golf Championships and such other tournaments have played significant role in flourishing the game of golf in the country which give breeding grounds for young golfers to compete at national level. If properly nurtured and channelized, these Golfers can bring laurels for Pakistan at International level.
Chief of the Naval Staff anticipated that it is with a sense of fulfilment that the game of golf is flourishing under the patronage of Pakistan Navy in Islamabad. He also appreciated efforts of Margalla Greens Golf Club management committee. The Admiral thanked the event sponsors; Indus motors company, Turkish Airline, Cutting Edge Communication, Allied Bank, Bahria University, Pizza Hut, Samma FM and Coca Cola for extending their essential support, without which, this event could not have been a success and more importantly for keeping the spirit of golf, alive in the country.
At the end, prizes were distributed amongst winner of all categories including Amateur, Seniors, Ladies and juniors, whereas the main trophy was given to the best Amateur in the net category, Idrees Nisar from Rawalpindi Golf Club.-PR
