Leaders of Businessmen Panel, a group of leading businessmen of Pakistan, have said State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has supported the concern of business community in its Monetary Policy Statement by mentioning sharp decrease in export of the country and asked the government for recovery measures.
In a joint press statement issued here on Sunday, leaders of Businessmen Panel including ex. Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, Mirza Abdur Rehman and former Chairman Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association and Executive Member FPCCI, Minhaj Bacha have blamed Chief Executive Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), S.M Munir as responsible for prevailing reduction in export of the country. They alleged that S.M Munir is also responsible for increasing problems of business community of the country.
The Businessmen Panel leaders said they were raising concern over drop in export of the country and now SBP has supported their view point in its policy statement. The SBP has asked government give special attention to recovery of country's export.
They also alleged that Chief Executive TDAP is misusing his authority for accumulating votes for its favourite group in FPCCI elections.
The Businessmen Panel leadership said silence over persistent decrease in country's export from the last three years is questionable. "In our country where all issues are given much importance and commissions are formed for probe, ignorance over this important issue on which whole economy depends is questionable," they reiterated. They demanded of government to appoint a responsible person on the post of Chief Executive TDAP who can save the country from persistent downfall in export and take measure for those responsible for losses received by country due to wrong policies.
