Incidents of different crimes witnessed a sharp increase in the city during the last week belying the tall claims of police high ups that they have placed strict security arrangements in the federal capital. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, city's various police station registered over nine cases of robbery, in which citizens lost valuables worth million of rupees, seven cases of auto theft, three cases of murder, two cases of kidnapping and 13 cases of cheque dishonoring during the last week.
During the last week the most favourite areas for car lifters and robbers were within the limits of Sihala, Aabpara, Karachi Company and Koral police stations. Sihala police station registered three cases each of robbery during the last week. Muhammad Riaz of Bahria Town phase 7 lodged a complaint with Sihala police station that unknown bandits stole gold ornament, watches and other valuables of Rs 500,000 from his house.
Tehseen Javed of Model Town informed Sihala police station that three armed person stopped him and snatched his mobile phone, cash and bike worth Rs 80,000. Ali Azam lodged a complaint with Sihala police station that cash and mobile phone of Rs 130,000 were stolen from his house. During the period under review Koral police station registered two cases each of murder, one case of kidnapping and a case of cheque dishonoring. Manzoor Ahmad of Nai Abadi informed Koral police station that Nabeel, Tariq and others have kidnapped his daughter.
Alama Ameer lodged a complaint with Koral police station that her former husband along with unknown persons killed her son while Abdul Majid registered a complaint with Koral police station that the accused Gul Nargass killed his son namely Dil Shan. Karachi Company police registered one case each of robbery and auto theft and a case of fake cheque. Asim, a resident of sector G-9/4 informed Karachi Company police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornament, mobile phone, two laptops and other valuables of Rs 1,000,000 from his house. Auto thieves stole a Corolla XLI car (LK-730) of Khawar Jamel worth Rs 700,000.
During the last week Aabpara police station registered two cases each of auto theft. Motor vehicle thieves stole a bike AKN-992 of Sadqat Ali of sector G-7/4 worth 70,000 and another bike (RIM-7030) of Ahsan Ilyass. Lohi Bheer police station registered one case each of kidnapping, robbery and fake cheque during the last week. Khurram Shehzad of Bahria Town lodged a complaint with Lohi Bheer police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornament, mobile phone and other valuables from his house. Nazeer Ahmad lodged a complaint with Lohi Bheer police station that his brother Nisar Ahmad was kidnapped by unknown people.
Shalimar, Golra Shairf, Ramana and Sabzi Mandi police station registered one case each of robbery during the last week while Bara Kahu and Industrial Area police station registered one case each of auto theft. Ali Khan lodged a complaint with Tarnol police station that Arif Khan, Salam and Waheed Shah shot dead his uncle.
