On the call of Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA), teachers associations of Sindh's public sector universities will observe Black Day on Monday, to record a protest against Sindh government's interference in autonomous universities
The protest call was given across Sindh against the appointment of Pro-Vice Chancellor in University of Sindh Jamshoro by Sindh government without taking the Vice Chancellor in confidence.
Academic activities will also remain suspended during the black day-related protest on Monday. The protesting teachers would wear armbands and stage sit-ins in the premises of their universities. NED Teachers Association, Karachi University Teachers Society, Sindh University Teachers Association and Mehran University Teachers Association and others embraced the call by FAPUASA. They announced the observance of the black day.
