KCR to reduce traffic congestion: Sindh governor

Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project is aimed to minimise traffic congestion, ensure traffic flow and facilitate Karachiites through an alternate mode of transport. This was stated by Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan while talking to a delegation of China Social Economic Academy and China Railways led by Mr. Vin which called on him at Governor House here on Sunday. Commissioner Karachi Syed Asif Hyder Shah was also present on the occasion.
Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan said that KCR was an integral part of Karachi Mass Transit and as such its early initiation was needed. It has already been delayed due to various reasons but now was the time to start the same as other mega projects like Green line, Orange line, Blue line, Yellow line and Red line to make Karachi a truly modernise city with regards to transport facilities.
The Governor Sindh said that China was the most close and reliable friend of Pakistan which has always stood by Pakistan in most testing times. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was another proof of the cordially relations between both the countries, he added.
He said that CPEC was the project of prosperity of Pakistan for which all Pakistanis are thankful to Chinese people and Government. CPEC would not only improve infrastructural facilities but would also provide ample employment opportunities and increase industrial production.
Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan said that to ensure security on CPEC and other projects special security units have been established.
