Tribal teachers from various agencies of Fata on Monday staged a protest demonstration outside the press club against the delay in up-gradation of their services and other allowances. They warned if the government didn't pay a heed toward their demands, they would boycott classes across the tribal region from tomorrow. A large number of male and female teachers participated in the protest and raised full-throated slogans against the provincial government and Fata Education department.
Talking to media persons, Central president of All Tribal Teachers Association Fata, Malak Khan Mehsud said that the provincial government had always discriminated with the employees of Fata particularly teaching community, who are doing their duties despite security challenges.
He said the rules and regulations formulated by provincial government were only implemented for the employees of Fata Secretariat. However, tribal teachers have been waiting for their promotion for the last four years and authorities concerned are using delaying tactics in this regard. He called for abolishment of the ABC categories in hard areas allowance and giving C category to all teachers of Fata.
