Drive against pressure horns begins in Lahore

19 Apr, 2016

The public transport has been facing prospect of an all-out action, for illegally using pressure horns, following a campaign by the Lahore Transport Company (LTC) to check them. The company's Enforcement and Operations Department and technical teams of the Punjab Environment Department have reportedly started removing pressure horns in buses and mini-buses by setting up special checking points on two major points in the city at RA Bazaar and the Qainchi Bus Stop on the Main Ferozpur Road.
The anti-horn action comes following a string of public complaints. The company's Operations Department has already released stern warnings to its operators flouting the transport rules and regulations. Monday's campaign began with special teams from the company's enforcement, operations and mechanical wings serving 46 pressure-horn-wielding buses with traffic offence notices (challans).
