Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the entire nation backs Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif's statement against corruption. While addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the PTI chief said the condition of law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before and after PTI took control over the governance is eminent before all as conditions in the province have improved.
He further said that 70 percent of the patients who are treated in Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) are deserving people. Referring to the government's ministers, Khan said, "They are not ashamed of levelling allegations against a hospital in order to hide their corruption". He inquired that why was no action taken if the money earned through SKMCH was invested in unfair businesses, adding that it was the first instance that there ever occurred a protest in order to hide corruption.
About United Kingdom's Prime Minister David Cameron, Khan said that Cameron did not blackmail the opposition in his country through his party members; "the government's responsibility is to catch the culprits, not to blackmail", he said. He further added that after the onset of the Panama Leaks, PM Cameron made public his tax details regarding the past six months.
Khan lambasted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, stating that Nawaz turns the election commission towards his side by manipulating it. He said that the Nawaz Sharif's government is more tyrannical than that of Musharraf and that the latter's performance was also better than the former's. He further said that this is no explanation that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is also corrupt thus no action needs to be taken against it. "Those who are corrupt should be curtailed instead of being blackmailed", he stated.
Khan said that according to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), corruption worth Rs 11 billion is done on daily basis. He alleged that property worth Rs 700 billion was purchased in Dubai by the PM's family. He added that the Prime Minister scolded NAB Chairman a few days ago, the reason behind the latter being rather inactive now-a-days.
He also said that General Hamid s reservations have also been clarified through the Act. He added that the KP government is trying to make the institutions sovereign, so that they may function without any interference. He also said that the Bank of Khyber issue is not related to corruption.
