The Punjab University women's team has clinched the first position in the third Higher Education Commission Jujitsu Championship 2015-16 while showing outstanding performance. The team won the championship by scoring 170 points while the Lahore College for Women's University scored 80 points and the Imperial College of Business Studies in Lahore scored 59 points and secured second and third positions.
A prize distribution ceremony too took place at the New Gymnasium of the Punjab University in which University Law College Principal Professor Doctor Shazia Naureen Qureshi was chief guest. Sports Director Shamsa Hashmi, Jujitsu Federation Pakistan President Khalil Ahmed Khan, officials and players were also present.
In his address, Dr Qureshi said that despite lack of facilities, the women had shown outstanding performances in the championship. Other teams also taking part were from the Iqra University Karachi, Agricultural University Faisalabad, GC University Faisalabad, LCWU, Islamia University Bahawalpur and Imperial College of Business Studies.
