Mandviwalla resigns as member TDAP BoD

PPP Senator Saleem Mandviwalla has submitted his resignation letter to the Chairman Senate Mian Razza Rabbani stating that "it is disappointing to see the state of the affairs of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) as it has failed to develop a consistent, sustainable and result oriented, export promotion plan at a national level forging effective liaison with private and public stakeholders".
In a press release he said that his decision to resign as member BOD of TDAP is due to the clear lack of will witnessed by him from the concerned quarters of TDAP.
Senator Mandviwalla said that TDAP is a failed, useless body and burden on the national kitty, its performance is very poor and lethal, no one implements the decisions of the BOD of TDAP.
Slaeem Mandviwalla was appointed Member of Board of Directors of TDAP on September 02, 2015.
Senator Saleem Mandviwalla once again has demanded to shut down this poor body so that its budget can be used for the betterment of the people of Pakistan. He said that TDAP funds are only used for political reasons and to the certain section of the business community.
Senator Slaeem Mandviwalla said that it is depressing to point out several times that the TDAP chairman and the whole team could not encourage and promote research in trade and policy related studies that may facilitate in formulating and effective export policy and plan.
He wrote that in the last three years TDAP has done nothing useful to increase the exports from Pakistan. The whole body is looking towards the ministry of Commerce and Finance to help them due to lack of their own, ability to find solutions for the industries having potential of exports from Pakistan.
In his resignation letter Senator Mandviwalla has said that since his nomination as member of BOD, TDAP the authority could only manage to conduct only one meeting which was held on December 01, 2015 during his official visit to Germany. Although I had requested Secretary, TDAP to change the date of the Board meeting but it was regretted and the said meeting was conducted on aforementioned date.
He said that according to the rules, the Chairman must hold a BOD Meeting not less than once every three months but no other meeting was conducted after 01, December 2015.-PR
