The 35th edition of the Chief of the Air Staff Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Championship 2016 will be commencing from today (Friday) April 22, here at Officer Mess Grassy Courts. This was stated by Director PAF Sports Control Committee Group Captain Asghar Awan while talking to journalists here on Thursday. He said all arrangements in this connection have already been completed for the smooth sailing of the prestigious and oldest Championship.
He said the qualifying rounds have already been kicked off and the final round will be started from Friday. He said during the CAS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a Championship, which is a regular feature of the Pakistan Tennis Ranking calendar and more than 130 players from all across Pakistan are taking part.
He said the Championship has the honour of being the first National Ranking event wherein players would compete in the Men singles, Men's doubles, Veteran Doubles, Junior Under-18 Singles, Boys Under-14 singles, Boys Under-10 singles.
Group Captain Asghar Awan disclosed that the grassy courts have been prepared well before the commencement of the Championship. He said top ranking players in each category have already confirmed their participation.
