Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that his government believes in co-existence and has never unleashed a policy of in victimisation. This he said while talking to a delegation of MQM led by Syed Sardar Ahmed and Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Khwaja Izhar, here on Monday. The members of the delegation include Mohammad Hussain, Ameenul Haq, Waseem Qureshi, Jamal Ahmed and Ali Raza Abidi.
Those who assisted the chief minister were Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Senior Minister for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah, Special Assistants to Chief Minister Rashid Rabbani and Waqar Mehdi. The MQM delegation said that their workers were being arrested and many had been missing. "A policy of harassment has also been unleashed against their leaders and workers and even imprisoned workers are also being harassed," he added.
The chief minister assured the delegation that their grievances would be redressed as per law. "We are political workers and respect the workers of other political parties," he said and added that he would never allow anybody to harass inmates. The chief minister said that the law enforcement agencies had restored peace in the city for which they had given lot of sacrifices. The MQM delegation also lauded the efforts of law enforcement agencies.
