Prime Minister doesn't operate any offshore companies: ICIJ

28 Apr, 2016

International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) on Wednesday admitted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's name was erroneously added to the Panama Papers. ICIJ has removed the Prime Minister's name from the Panama Papers and has further clarified that PM Nawaz does not operate any offshore companies and that his name in the Panama Papers was added as the result of an editing mistake on the basis of which it appeared on the website. Meanwhile, PM Nawaz directed the cabinet colleagues not to respond to the allegations levelled by the opposition parties and to focus on developmental projects.
The federal cabinet ministers added that the ICIJ s confession of its mistake has clarified the entire situation and that attempts regarding destabilising the government shall be futile.
