Global coffee exports rose 1.0 percent in March from the same month a year earlier to total 10.39 million 60-kg bags, the International Coffee Organisation (ICO) said on Friday. For the first six months of the 2015/16 season, which began on October 1 last year, coffee exports were up 1.6 percent at 55.46 million bags. Robusta coffee exports fell 2.0 percent in March from a year earlier to 3.95 million bags.
Cumulative robusta exports for the season to date dropped 7.7 percent to 19.66 million bags. Arabica coffee exports in March were 3.0 percent higher than in the same month last year, at 6.44 million bags. Cumulative arabica exports for the season to date rose 7.6 percent to 35.80 million bags.
