Assef says government failing to appreciate criticality of human resource

02 May, 2016

World best scientists are amongst the Pakistani youth. Unfortunately most precious asset-the human resource is being continuously ignored by Pakistani rulers. These thoughts were expressed by former Foreign Affairs Minister of Pakistan Sardar Assef Ahmed Ali during annual prize distribution ceremony of TECH Welfare High School on Sunday at TECH Club. Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh, Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, Mian Muhammad Ashraf, Jameel Gishkori, Abdul Majeed Khan, Ifra Hashmi, Naheed Shaikh and former Minister of State Qayyum Nizami also spoke.
More than 300 students, their parents and teachers participated in the prize distribution ceremony. Students presented national songs and various skits.
Qayyum Nizami said that a society which does not respect their teachers cannot progress. He quoted an example of Allama Iqbal who refused to get the title of Sir from British saying that they should first award this title to his teacher Molvi Mir Hassan. When it was asked from Allama Iqbal what kind of book Molvi Mir Hassan wrote he said my teacher taught me and created my personality to whom you are awarding the title of Sir.
Qayyum Nizami said unfortunately Pakistan is a knowledge deficit country. The persons in authority do not have knowledge and the people who know don't have authority. Knowledgeable people should have authority and their accountability should be ensured, he added. Stressing upon the students Nizami said they should adopt the personality of Quaid-e-Azam as a role model who attained this status after hard work and brought us an independent country Pakistan through his tireless efforts. Quaid-e-Azam was free from fear and his in and out was clean. So our leadership should be, Nizam emphasised.
Chairman Board of Governors of TECH Welfare High School Mian Muhammad Ashraf, Manzoor A. Shaikh, Mrs. Naheed Manzoor, Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, Qayyum Nizami and chief guest Sardar Assef Ahmed Ali distributed prizes amongst the position holders.
