Apex committee reviews implementation of NAP, TDPs' repatriation

Apex Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in its 45th meeting held with Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra in the chair on Thursday reviewed the implementation of National Action Plan and discussed matters related repatriation of displaced persons with special focus on overall law and order situation in the province and FATA.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khan Khattak, Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hidayat ur Rehman, Chief secretary KP, Amjad Ali Khan, IGP Nasir Khan Durrani, IGFC, Major General Mazhar Shaheen Mahmood, Commandant Frontier Constabulary, Liaqat Ali Khan, Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, Principal secretary to Governor, Sikandar Qayum, Secretary Home KP and other concerned officials.
The committee discussed in detail the current law and order situation prevailing in the province and FATA and reviewed the progress on implementation of the previous decisions and the return process of displaced persons in tribal areas. The committee also reviewed the progress on the implementation of the National Action Plan and expressed their satisfaction on the progress and directed to take further steps in this regard.
The meeting was also briefed about the pace of progress on the ongoing security measures as well as the repatriation and rehabilitation arrangements in the affected areas. It was decided in the meeting that expeditious steps would be taken to ensure the dignified repatriation of TDPs to their homes.
