The British Council and SEED Ventures have partnered to work together for building the capacity of the youth in Balochistan and creating a new breed of entrepreneurs and leaders. This promising partnership between the two entities is initiating programmes in parallel that would be working on ground with members of the community as well as creating the foundation of large-scale programmes to be implemented in the near future.
Robin Davies - British Council Director, Sindh & Balochistan, said on this occasion; "I am delighted that we are working closely with SEED Ventures on this opportunity to inspire and build the capacity of members of the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders in Balochistan.
SEED and the British Council are combining our respective strengths and expertise in this sector to offer a really exciting programme and I look forward to seeing both the programme and our partnership grow over the coming months." SEED Ventures Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder Faraz Khan, a UK based Pakistani social entrepreneur and investor, commented that it is the collective efforts of organisations like the British Council and SEED Ventures that would inculcate the seeds of entrepreneurship in members of the society across all geographical boundaries. He further expressed the need to create leaders who follow their own paths changing lives and leaving their mark.
Director & Co-Founder SEED Ventures Khusro Ansari remarked; "the development of atmosphere conducive to higher education, economic growth and entrepreneurial endeavours leading towards an enhanced economy and livelihood creation is imperative. He continued by saying that the doors of opportunity should be open to all including the marginalized communities and that the programme in Balochistan with the British Council aims to achieve that through structured programmes in the province".
Under the current circumstances in Balochistan, engaging the people, especially the youth, and introducing them to multiple avenues of career options and growth as well as personal development is essential. The vision is to inculcate entrepreneurship and developing leadership qualities in the youth of the province. A combination of higher education, business and leadership skills as well as the means to utilize both will help the people of Balochistan to derive maximum advantage from their abilities, and in the long run will transform them into conduits for economic progress in different parts of Balochistan.
