The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) in collaboration with Changes In Education (CIE) organized skills training workshops to teachers of Dera Ismail Khan Government Primary Schools, Middle Schools and Higher Secondary Schools under its Livelihood Enhancement and Protection of Small Community Infrastructure Program (LACIP).
The trainings were imparted by expert trainers of Roots National Institute of Teachers Training and Education (RNITE) and shared teaching theories, strategies and 21st century teaching practices among the teachers along with practical implementation methods in the classrooms.
The methodologies and standards used by the trainers enhanced the evaluation, classroom management and assessment skills of government school teachers. Group activities were designed to shift the focus of their approach from teacher to student centric. In the workshops, as many as 31 female teachers and 50 male teachers participated and learned modern trends, innovative teaching ideas and teamwork activities. Under the education program, LACIP has supported teachers and school administration with new teaching methods, lessons planning and management. Semi-complete and old schools have been reconstructed or improved to provide quality education to the students.
The schools have been provided additional classrooms, boundary walls, water tanks, repair and renovation, lab equipment, library books, sports kits and toilets as needed. Mohammad Nadeem, Senior General Manager, LACIP said "Under Livelihood Support & Promotion of Small Community Infrastructure Program (LACIP), PPAF invested to upgrade public schools by providing missing facilities like additional classrooms, toilets, computer labs and furniture.-PR
