In a Muslim society, every day is considered as the mothers' day. This was stated by the wife of the President, Begum Mahmooda Mamnoon Hussain. She was speaking on the occasion of Mothers' Day, organised by the South Zone of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) at the State Guest House here on Sunday.
Begum Bilqees Edhi of the Edhi Foundation, Hina Mansab Khan, chief patron of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Farida Qureshi and other women were also present on the occasion.
Begum Mamnoon Hussain said that in a Muslim society, there is a tremendous respect for the mothers.
"We are taught that the paradise lies beneath the feet of the mother", she added. Therefore, the Muslims not only respect and serve their mothers but also consider this as the part of the faith. She said that mother is not mere a word or a relationship but a `Jazba' and from her love every society gains strength.
