NTN to be compulsory for FESCO's prospective consumers

The board of directors of the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has considered declaring the National Tax Number (NTN) compulsory for prospective consumers of all tariffs.
The meeting reviewed the policy for new electricity connections and observed that the FESCO was already collecting 40 percent of taxes for the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) from this region. Chairman Khurram Mukhtar said that as per corporate culture and in order to enhance the tax pace FESCO should also contributed its role in generating much needed revenue for the government.
In this connection, different aspects of new electricity connection policy were discussed and Risk Management Committee was directed to formulate a workable policy, especially in corporating the NTN for the prospective consumers.
