Uzair sent to 14-day judicial remand

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday sent Uzair Baloch, chief of banned People's Aman Committee, to jail on 14-day judicial remand in a case pertaining to possessing explosives substance and arms. He was produced before the administrative judge of ATC amid tight security. While sending Uzair Baloch on judicial remand for 14 days, the court directed the investigators to submit the challan within two weeks.
According to the papers submitted to the court, the explosives including five rockets, one LMG, 6 Awan Bomb were recovered from Tanker Chowrangi, Garden on the identification of the accused. An FIR 67/2016 was registered under section 4/5 of the explosives Act read with Anti Terrorism Act, 1997.
Earlier in January this year, the Rangers claimed to have arrested Uzair from the outskirts of Karachi when he was trying to enter the city. The gang leader remained in the custody of Abu Dhabi police for almost three months as he fled there to avoid arrest after the launch of Karachi operation.
