Court sends Ashraf Magsi to judicial remand

An Accountability Court in Quetta has sent former chairman Balochistan Public Service Commission Ashraf Magsi to jail on judicial remand. Ashraf Magsi will be presented in the court again on May 16. Magsi was on four-day remand in National Accountability (NAB) custody till Friday. The ex-chairman Balochistan Public Service Commission Muhammad Ashraf Magsi was arrested on Monday for alleged misuse of authority in the appointment of head mistresses and section officers in 2012.
A corruption reference had already been filed with the Accountability Court, Quetta, against Magsi and two ex-deputy directors of the BPSC, Abdul Waheed and Niaz Muhammad Kakar. Two daughters of Ashraf Magsi (Abida Magsi and Azra Magsi) besides another woman were appointed against the posts of headmistress (BPS-17) in the Education department through the BPSC.
