A high-level delegation led by the British High Commissioner, Thomas Drew met Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif here on Friday. The delegation appreciated the steps taken in Punjab for eliminating terrorism and extremism and said the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken timely and effective measures to root out terrorism and extremism.
The British High Commissioner also discussed matters of mutual interest and strengthening of bilateral relations and promotion of cooperation between the two countries in different sectors. The members of the delegation also observed that an effective strategy was being implemented in the Punjab for curbing the menace of terrorism and creation of an Anti-Terrorism Force is an important step in this regard.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif told the delegation, there is no room for terrorism and extremism in Pakistan and the whole nation is united in efforts to make Pakistan a peace haven. The British High Commissioner also appreciated Shahbaz Sharif's efforts for public service and said the British government will take steps for promoting collaboration with Punjab government in future as well.
