Polio campaign in Balochistan from today

Co-ordinator Emergency Operation Centre Balochistan, Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman has said that the preparations for the Polio campaign that is set to commence from 16th of May have been completed in 640 union councils of 30 districts in Balochistan. In a press statement issued here on Sunday, he said that the benchmark of vaccinating as many as 23,94,846 children up to 5 years has been set, for which 6773 mobile teams, 825 fixed sites and 340 transit points have been established.
He said that stringent measures of security would also be in placed during the immunisation campaign wherein jawans of Police, Levies and Frontier Corps would perform their security duties. He said that the community health volunteers' services would also be sought during the campaign who would work in the high risk areas.
As regards the children of Afghan Refugees, he said that a task force has been constituted to vaccinate the children of the Afghan Refugees and this task force would work under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of each area, adding that District Health Officers and EOC would also be part of district committee.
