In order to coop with increasing electricity requirements with the establishment of Punjab Institute of Nuero Sciences and construction of new blocks, Lahore General Hospital administration has started installation of a grid station at the premises of hospital. The project would be completed at a cost of Rs 104.3 million and would be functional in December.
This was informed by Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood after inspecting the various under construction parts of the new grid station. He was accompanied by MS LGH Dr Niaz Ahmed, Dr Sikandar Hayat Gondal and other administrative doctors.
Prof Khalid Mahmood said that LGH is the first ever Government hospital in Pakistan having such facility and all credit for this goes to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif's personal efforts and cooperation of LESCO authorities.
He said that with the completion of grid station the electricity load being supplied to LGH would increase from 4,500 kilowatts to 10500 kilowatts.
The enhanced electricity supply would not only immensely help the uninterrupted medical services to patients but also save the health care equipment and installations, he said.
Moreover, the residents of Staff Colony would also be benefited from this facility, he added.
Prof Khalid Mahmood said that a piece of land in front of Phase 2 covering 18,900 square feet area has been allocated for the construction of grid station.
He expressed the hope that the new facility would definitely improve the performance of the hospital and standard of services to patients and their attendants would further rise.
