Government committed to overcoming energy crisis: minister

Federal Water and Power Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government is committed to cope with energy crisis on top priority basis. Talking to Business Recorder at Pakistan Muslim League House on Sunday he said the government will allocate huge funds during next fiscal year for power generation and this process will continue to fulfil its promise for getting rid the menace of load shedding.
Asif said that we are mobilising all resources and channels for generating maximum energy and to get rid of load shedding at earliest possible. By virtue of effective policies of the government the duration of load shedding has been reduced to many folds as compare to previous year and people were feeling sign relief while the industrial wheel in full motion.
Minister said the government will fulfil its promises regarding energy because Pakistan's energy security is priority of PML-N government. We are already working on strategy for overcoming the energy crisis besides under the programme long, medium and short term power generation plans had already been initiated in the country.
Asif said the PML-N government was making adequate efforts for strengthening and stabilising the industrial sector because the industrial sector is backbone of the national economy as well as providing employment opportunities to thousands workers across the country. The government was utilising sufficient funds for improving the means of communication evenly in rural and urban areas of the country he said. Asif said the basic objective of improving the means of communication was to bringing neglected areas at equal par with the developed areas of the country.
The Minister said linking of backward with developed parts will be supportive in banish poverty and backwardness from the country adding that banishing backwardness and weeding out poverty on top government agenda.
He was of the foresees that the mega project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will pivotal role in bringing revolutionary change and usher economic stability and prosperity in the country. Similarly, Gwadar port will also play a dominating role in strengthening national economy and overall development of the country. Both the projects Gwadar and CPEC will open new vistas of development and prosperity as well as ensure employment opportunities for the people of the country.
Earlier, addressing the people in Open Kutchary the Minister assured that government was making adequate efforts for resolving the people's problems on priority basis. Asif said that Federal and provincial governments were utilising all available sources for the timely completion of projects to facilitate general public.
On this occasion the Minister listen the complaints of the people and ordered the concerned high ups to address the complaints. Members of Punjab Assembly Khawaja Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt and Chaudhry Muhammad Ikram were also present on the occasion.
