Islamabad High Court has granted 12-day protective bail to former advisor to chief minister Balochistan on finance Mir Khalid Langove. Lango had pleaded in the court that he wanted to cooperate with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) therefore he should be given protective bail. Chairman NAB and director NAB Balochistan are made opponents in the case of embezzlement.
Khalid Lango has adopted the stance that former Balochistan finance secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Raisani had tricked him into the case to save himself. "I voluntarily resigned from the advisor's post after Rs 730 million were recovered from Raisani's residence," Lango said. The former advisor finance approved the request and granted protective bail for 12 days.
A two-member judicial bench comprising Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah ordered Lango to submit Rs 0.2 million bonds. NAB had on May 07 recovered over Rs 730 million from the residence of Mushtaq Ahmed Raisani and arrested him. Raisani was accused of embezzling billions of rupees from local government funds.
