Eid cards competition held

Annual 25th Eid Cards Competition was jointly organised by Hamdard Public School and Hamdard Village School on May 17, 2016 at the premises of Hamdard Public School, Madinat al-Hikmah Karachi. Mrs Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, Chief guest Nusrat Nasrallah and Professor Dr Hakim Abdul Hannan, Vice Chancellor, Hamdard University inaugurated the Eid Cards Competition.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief guest and seasoned journalist, Nusrat Nasrullah said that the importance of Eid Card was being reduced in the age of cell phones as Eid Mubarak messages were being conveyed through SMS, even then it was a tradition which should be continued in Islamic way of greetings keeping in view of Islamic values. Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, founder of both schools, loved children very much and what he had earned he spent on education, he said, adding that Hakim Saheb was a very good writer, therefore students of his schools must try to become writers as well, besides good painters as their designs of Eid Cards showed their skills of painting. Artists Mehtab Ali and Fasihuddin were the judges of the competition, in which students from class 1 to 10 of both schools participated. Judges chose the first, second and third best Eid Cards. Teachers and students in a large number attended the function. -PR
