Two cops killed in Quetta blast

At least two policemen killed and six injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast which hit a police patrolling van on Quetta's Spini road, on Tuesday night. The police sources said that unidentified armed men planted a remote-control bomb at a bus terminal on Spini road in the provincial capital and detonated it when a police patrolling van was passing through the area. "The bomb explosion hit the police patrolling van, leaving ten people injured including six police personnel and four civilians," they said.
The rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to hospital. According to doctors, condition of some injured was critical who were referred to Combined Military Hospital Quetta. The bomb disposal squad said that Improvised Explosive Device was used in the blast. The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the entire area to trace the suspects.
The injured police personnel were identified as Arshad Ali, Hanif, Waqar, Ashraf, Syed Muhammad and Abdullah. The civilian wounded were recognised as Naqibullah, Mudassar (child), Waqas and Abdul Bari. The police have lodged a case against unknown accused and launched investigation into the incident. Further probe was underway.
