Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday summoned District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Hafiz Mohammad Tahir, who verified the documents of Wali Muhammad to help him obtain a Pakistani identity card.
Following the directives of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, FIA summoned DCO Hafiz Tahir for making him part of the ongoing investigation into the US drone strike in which Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour was killed.
The minister said the agency has also arrested Tehsildar Mohammad Rafique Tareen who verified Wali Muhammad's form, which is mandatory for issuance of a National Identification Card from Quetta. Action against DCO Hafiz Tahir and Tehsildar Rafique Tareen has been taken on the basis of the data provided by the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra).
Nisar said on Tuesday that Wali Mohammad obtained manual Pakistani identity card in 2001 and got a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) in 2002. He said he ordered an inquiry into the matter to identify those who had verified the documents of Wali Muhammad to obtain a Pakistani identity card in 2001.
He said that according to the record available with Nadra, Uzair Ahmad, son of Noor Ahmad Khan, who is Risaldar Major in the Balochistan Levies, and Mahboob Khan Norai, son of Muhammad Rasool, had attested his documents. The FIA arrested the two persons but they denied attesting the documents of Wali Muhammad, he added. The Minister said the Naib Tehsildar who had verified Wali Muahammad's identity card has died.
