Four terrorists including a key militant commander were killed and a huge cache of weapons were recovered in an operation conducted by security forces personnel here on Saturday. The security forces on an intelligence based tipoff regarding the presence of a commander belonging to a proscribed militant outfit conducted a search operation in the suburbs of Barkhan district in Balochistan.
The terrorists said to be hiding in the area, on seeing the approaching security forces personnel opened indiscriminate fire in a desperate bid to flee. Security forces in retaliation opened fire and during the ensuing gun-battle killed a key militant commander identified as Mera along with three of his accomplices. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered during the operation.
