Literary figures pay tributes to Manto

Pakistan Academy for Letters (PAL) arranged a seminar on life, art and personality of the renowned fiction writer Saadat Hassan Manto. Besides, prominent poet and fiction writer, Professor Nasir Ali Syed, Resident Director, PAL-Peshawar, Said Wali Khiyal Momand, Noor-ul-Amin Yousafzai, Yousaf Aziz Zahid, Professor Khalid Sohail Malik, Proessor Aseer Mengal and Dr Sattar Khan Lowagari spoke on the life and art of Saadat Hassan Minto in detail.
In their speeches they paid glowing tributes to the unprecedented literary services of Minto while Sabir, Amjad Ali Khadim and Sajid Sarhadi read out their tributary poetry about him. In his speech Professor Nasir Ali Syed said that Saadat Hassan Minto was a bold and courageous writer of his era and was master in writing stories and took Urdu fiction to new height. Regional Director, PAL, Said Wali Khiyal Momand said that Minto was among the top great fiction writers of the South Asia, saying his writings reflects social situation and social life of his era.
