A delegation of Federal Ombudsman's Secretariat headed by M Salman Faruqui, Wafaqi Mohtasib-i-Aala, called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali at Supreme Court Islamabad on Tuesday and presented reports on prison, police stations and pension issues complied by the Federal Ombudsman under the directions of Supreme Court of Pakistan in different cases.
Salman Faruqui briefed Chief Justice about the reports finalised after the considerable deliberations. These reports identify maladministration and systemic failures and also suggest ways and means to bring improvements for the effective and smooth functioning of the institutions so that the grievances of public at large could be redressed expeditiously.
He also briefed the Chief Justice of Pakistan about the future roadmap of the institution by establishing set-up at District level to provide relief to the people. Chief Justice of Pakistan welcomed the delegates and appreciated the efforts of the Federal Ombudsman for compiling such extensive and organised reports highlighting issues and extending suggestions for their solution and he hoped that Federal Ombudsman will be working with same zeal for the betterment of the country. He also assured of support to institution of Federal Ombudsman for redressal of the grievances of general public.-PR
