US Plains HRW wheat bids flat

Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were flat in the southern US Plains on Wednesday as farmers eyed higher futures ignited by slower early harvesting efforts following recent rains, grain merchants said. The US Department of Agriculture's weekly late Tuesday rated winter wheat crop 63 percent good to excellent, which was above average market expectations. Protein premiums for wheat shipped to and through Kansas City were unchanged on Tuesday.
