Punjab Zakat & Usher Department has released fourth quarterly installment of financial assistance of Rs 370.3 million as subsistence allowance for 89,220 deserving persons and blind persons as well as Eid grant for the year 2015-16.
Provincial Minister for Zakat & Usher Malik Nadeem Kamran stated this while presiding over a meeting held in this connection. Secretary Zakat & Usher Nayyer Iqbal, Administrator Zakat Muhammad Yousaf Butt, beside other officers of the department were present on this occasion.
He said a grant of Rs 250.17 million has been issued as subsistence allowance for deserving persons, Rs 10.58 million for blind persons whereas Rs 100.53 million have been issued as Eid grant for deserving persons at the rate of Rs 1000 each.
Malik Nadeem Kamran while giving details informed that Rs 40.03 million have been issued as subsistence allowance for 13443 deserving and blind persons of Lahore division,Rs 30.97 million for 13250 deserving persons of Gujranwala division, Rs 20.61 million for 8724 deserving persons of Rawalpindi division,Rs 20.38 million for 7941 deserving persons of Sargodha division, Rs 40 million for 13542 deserving persons of Faisalabad division, Rs 20,96 million for 9897 deserving persons of Multan division, Rs 20.5 million for 8364 deserving persons of Dera Ghazi Khan, Rs 10,90 million for 6357 deserving persons of Bahawalpur and Rs 20.3 millionm for 7702 deserving persons of Sahiwal whereas due to Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, a grant Rs 100.53 million has been issued as financial assistance and Eid Grant for needy persons which will be distributed among them in the first week of Ramazan at the rate of Rs 1000 each.
Provincial Minister directed Secretary and Administrator Zakat & Uhser to monitor the arrangements for transparent distribution of financial assistance among the destitute persons.
