RTO Abbottabad surpasses tax collection target

Regional Tax Office Abbottabad has surpassed the tax collection target with the record growth of 36% as compared to the national growth of 19% for the current year in eleven months. The achievement is duly acknowledged by the Humayaun Akhter, Minister of State for Revenue and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in a special appreciation letter to Chief Commissioner, RTO Abbottabad Mehmood Lilla.
The efforts of the RTO Abbottabad were also appreciated by the Member Operation Inland Revenue Dr Mohammad Irshad in a video conference of all tax collectors of the country had lauded the performance of the RTO Abbottabad and pin hope to maintain the top position among rest of tax formations in the country.
The RTO Abbottabad has set record by collection of all taxes with the tune of Rs5817 (m) out of which collection of sales tax stands at Rs 2411 (m) which is 32% higher as compare to last year and collection of Income tax stood at Rs 3406 (m) which is 39% higher to the corresponding year.
This marvellous achievements has been possible by the dedicated efforts of the officers, officials of the RTO Abbottabad who under the guidance of Chief Commissioner Mehmood Lilla had devised the effective strategy of monitoring of the withholding taxes as RTO Abbottabad has witnessed a growth of 30.30% in withholding taxes only against eh national average growth of 19.2%.
This performance is achieved by particular monitoring and collection made from educational institution on dedication of tax of fee from students, deduction of contracts given by various TMAs as lot of TMAs as well as educational institutions were identified which were not withholding the taxes property and after the legal proceedings the amount has been recovered.
In some cases even the bank accounts of the TMA as well as educational institutional including the medical colleges were attached and the defaulting amount recovered.
