KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed said city wardens had been deputed in the metropolis on various locations to help traffic police in controlling traffic during Ramazan. He expressed these views while giving directive for deployment of city wardens in the city at the start of Ramazan. He said the city wardens would also perform duty at the major shopping centres and other important locations including the big mosques during Taraveeh prayers.
Two mobiles of city wardens would petrol on Lyari Expressway along with highway police to help controlling traffic during the holy month, he added. He said the presence of city wardens during Ramazan would provide citizens with feeling of security and convenience in their prayers and for that purpose 650 city wardens were being deployed on 92 locations in the city who would perform duties at different timings and that step would help in restoring trust of citizens and business community on government organisations.
The KMC Administrator said 650 city wardens would work with traffic police for maintaining traffic flow on 92 locations during Ramazan whereas 120 city wardens would perform duties on 12 different locations of Traveeh gathering. As many as 120 city wardens had been deployed on 12 big shopping centres of the city, he said. He said the locations where those wardens had been deputed include Shaheen Complex, Supreme Court Registry, Arts Council Sindh Assembly, Fawwara Chowk Governor House, Regal Chowk Saddar, Dilpasand Sweet MA Jinnah Road, Fresco Chowk Burns Road, Gul Plaza MA Jinnah Road, Tibbat Centre MA Jinnah Road, Metropole Hotel Sharea Faisal, Avari Tower Sharea Faisal. Hotel Mehran Sharea Faisal, Drig Road-I Sharea Faisal, Star Gate Sharea Faisal, Mazar-e-Quaid Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Society Office Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Noorani Kabab Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Allah Wali Chowrangi Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Tipu Sultan Signal Shaheed-e-Millat, Medicare Shaheed-e-Millat.
