The Met Office on Tuesday forecast very hot and dry weather for most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. The extreme weather is likely to continue over plains in Punjab, central and southern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, Sibbi and Makran divisions over the period.
However, dust-thunderstorm with rain is expected at few places in Kashmir, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad and Fata during evening/night. "Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending south-eastwards," it said. Maximum temperature was recorded in Jacobabad as 51 degrees centigrade, Sibbi 50, Rahim Yar Khan, Moenjodaro, Bhakkar and Larkana 49, each, Rohri, Noorpur Thal and Sukkur 48, each, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Dadu and Okara 47, each in the last 24 hours.
