Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed paid surprise visit to Johar Town and Town Ship Ramzan Bazaars Thursday and checked the quality of food items on different stalls. While talking to the media representatives he said that due to efforts of price control committee lemons are available in abundance in Ramzan Bazars now.
He said that lemons are available at Rs 180 in Ramzan Bazaars which were sold on 250 per KG in open market earlier. He said that Ramzan Bazaars are serving the purpose in a wide spectrum and prices in open market are also getting in control due to efforts on Ramzan Bazaars. People visiting Ramzan Bazaars thanked minister agriculture for his efforts and the minister lauded the administration. Dr Farrukh Javed while talking to the media representatives said that all the administration is working day and night to ensure the relief to masses in Ramzan Kareem.
He said that profiteers will be sent behind the bars and no leverage will be given to law breakers. Provincial Agriculture Minister expressed these views here in Johar Town and Town Ship Ramzan Bazars. Dr Farrukh checked the moisture content in floor bags which was 10.5. The minister talked to the buyers in the market and checked quality and prices of food commodities. He said that government is striving to provide food items on subsidised rate throughout the province. He said that all 318 Ramzan Bazars are operational and people are visiting them in large numbers which tells about the credibility of Ramzan Bazars. He said that the agriculture fair price shops are providing exemplary relief to citizen.
Agriculture Minister told the media representatives present in the bazaar that the Punjab Government is focusing on providing relief to masses through efficient follow up of the Ramzan Bazaars across the province. He went to stalls and checked the quality of food items and asked the people regarding their issues. He said that government representatives are keeping a strict check on Ramzan Bazaars and open market to ensure availability of quality food items on fixed prices.
