Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the Nuclear Suppliers Group's membership for India would be a grave threat to regional peace and stability. Talking to media men, here on Thursday, he said that the US wanted to build India as the regional policeman to oversee China.
However, he said that India's expansionism and her aggressive designs were not hidden from anyone. India had committed aggression against Pakistan twice in the past and she could not live in peace with her neighbours. India was not ready to give equal status to her neighbouring states and instead of respecting their independence and sovereignty, it wanted to make them her colonies.
He said that instead of trying to disturb balance of power in the region, India should try to improve her ties with the neighbouring states. The JI chief deplored that Pakistan's foreign policy was continuously in a bad shape. While India's foreign policy was expanding, Pakistan's foreign policy was shrinking.
He said that in the absence of the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister represented the state. "But unfortunately, we have no Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister was also sick." He said during the last three months, Indian Prime Minister had made successful visits to Saudi Arabia, Iran and Afghanistan and had been able to mould the situation of the whole region in New Delhi's favour.
He said the US-India collusion was a deep conspiracy to sabotage the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and to build Chabahar as major port as against Gwadar but the rulers in Islamabad were indifferent. Haq said that Pakistan's' foreign policy had always been serving US interests whereas US had always deceived this country. He said that till today, Pakistan's Foreign Policy had never been reviewed at any elected forum nor had the Foreign Ministry considered itself answerable to anyone. He said the gains of India and Pakistan's failures were not the issue, the real issue was the incompetence of the government and the acceptance of India's supremacy by the Pakistani rulers.
He said that India was already working on plans to ruin Pakistan's industry, trade and agriculture as well. India had signed a permanent pact with Afghanistan to control the water of river Kabul with the only aim to turn this country into a desert. India had already built barrages across rivers in Kashmir besides major dams over Pakistani rivers due to which millions of acres of fertile land in the Punjab had been turned barren. He said the incompetence and indifference of the government had disappointed the masses. The rulers had 'failed on all fronts and there was no good news from any quarter. Yet, the rulers were claiming of successes and lauding their policies.
