NADRA blocks 300 CNICs of Afghan refugees in Swat

On the directives of the Ministry of Interior,, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has blocked nearly 300 National Identity Cards (NICs) issued to Afghan refugees in district Swat.
The intelligence agencies have initiated inquiry into both the issuance of NICs to Afghan refugees and those who had verified them. The persons have obtained Pakistani identity cards after showing themselves as Pakistani.
Some tribesmen are also included in the list of those whose NICs have been blocked.
The intelligence agencies have started investigation against all those persons who have verified them for the obtaining of the national identity cards of Pakistan.
The intelligence agencies have collected proofs against such elements and FIRs have also been registered against them.
There was also the possibilities of the blocking of the NICs of those arrived in the area in 1951 during the era of the State of Swat and also who have dual nationality.
