Police on Thursday registered a case against a married woman who threw acid on a man after he refused to marry her in Makhdoom Rasheed area of Multan. Police officer said, "We have arrested the woman under Section 336-D PPC and the victim received burns on back side of his body, neck and head." Police said a mother of four children identified as Shamim Bibi (35), and 25-year-old Sadaqat Ali had illicit relations and when he refused to marry Shamim, she threw acid on him on Wednesday.
Sadaqat was shifted to Nishtar Hospital in a critical situation. The father of Sadaqat has confirmed that the woman threw acid on his son after he refused her proposal. Police have initiated further investigation.
