A court has sent two former top officers of the Gujranwala Electric Power Supply Company (GEPSC) to jail on judicial remand after being linked to an illegal recruitment scandal. The Accountability Court on Thursday sent former chief executive officer Ibrahim Majoka and former human resource director Hashmat Ali Kazmi to jail after National Accountability Bureau officials summoned them. Although bureau investigators initially wanted further physical remand, the court refused and instead had them jailed on judicial remand and also told them to file a reference of the case before the next hearing.
