Bill Gates Foundation official phones Bilawal

Christopher Elias President of Bill Gates & Melinda Foundation's Global Development Program phoned Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party and discussed the joint efforts of the Foundation and the Sindh government for eradication of crippling disease of polio from the province.
Bilawal Bhutto informed him that a dedicated team of polio workers in Sindh was working under the direct leadership of his sister Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and aunt Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho to carry out the polio drive and achieve the mission of making Pakistan a polio-free country, a Bilawal House Media Cell statement said here on Friday.
PPP Chairman told Elias that his mother and former Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had first initiated polio campaigns in Pakistan and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is the first child who was administered polio drops two decades back. Later on, the government led by President Asif Ali Zardari also ran vigorous drives against polio. He further said that Sindh government has made the Health officials and administrations accountable and all stake-holders were co-operating in this national task to achieve polio free status on the globe.
Christopher Elias appreciated the efforts of Sindh government and stressed for more efforts to save the future generations from this paralysing disease. He assured that BGMF will continue cooperation and co-ordination with Sindh government to eradicate the disease.
