Provincial Health Department and Khyber Medical University (KMU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Friday for four years diploma course for paramedics under semester system that will begin at Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Postgraduate Paramedical Institute Peshawar. The MoU was signed at ZABPGPMI where Provincial Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarkai and senior officials of Provincial Services Academy and ZABPGPMI were also present.
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Postgraduate Institute This BS course will initially begin at 10 disciplines from current educational year that include radiotherapy, genecology, cardiology, pathology, speech therapy and nuclear medicines etc. Under the agreement, the KMU would provide faculty members for teaching alongside bearing salaries' expenses of the faculty.
As per the MoU, KMU will provide skill laboratory, digital library, computer lab at paramedical medical institute and the fee received from students would be given to the KMU. The curriculum will be same as being taught at the KMU. The Minister Shahram Tarkai said the MoU was a very positive step that would help strengthen paramedics sector in the province and provide better educational and training facilities to the students.
