Foundation of 'Pakistan gate' laid at Taftan border

Foundation of the Pakistan gate on Friday was laid at the Pakistan-Iran border in Taftan. Civil-military leaders attended the event along with tribal leaders. Collector customs Saeed Gadhaun, Brigadier Khalid Baig, Commandant Taftan Rifles Colonel Kashif Ijaz Chaudhary and Deputy Commissioner Chaghai Qadir Buksh Parkani laid foundation of the two 30-feet long gates. The construction of the gates cost Rs 200 million.
The first ever gate constructed at the Taftan border by Pakistan Customs shall not only serve to improve the country's image towards the visitors coming from Iran but will also be used to improve the security measures taken towards the imports and exports being made from the border along with providing facilities to travellers heading to Iran. While addressing the media during the event, Brigade Khalid Baig stated that the construction of the gate at the Taftan border will prove to be an important milestone and will serve as increasing Pakistan's prestige. Saeed Gadhaun said Pakistan gate would help in enhancing trade between Pakistan and Iran.
