Zohaib of KPK elected for Asian Junior Badminton

Hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa international badminton player Zohaib Khan named in the Pakistan Junior team for the forthcoming Asian Junior Badminton Championship to be commencing from July 9-17, 2016. Talking to media member selection committee of the Pakistan Badminton Federation, Mian Sadaqat Shah, said that it is a golden opportunity for the promising and talented Zohaib Khan, hailing from a suburban village near provincial capital Peshawar Tehkail Payan, to shine at international level.
Zohaib Khan proved his worth against fellow competitors from other part of the country. He said a total of 16 players were short-listed wherein four each from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one from Karachi, one from Sahiwal (Punjab) and among them Zohaib Khan gave a stunning performance before his selection in the final four members Pakistan team.
Flanked by Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association Haji Amjad, Mian Sadaqat Shah appreciated Zohaib after winning most of his trials matches against other top 15 players. Haji Amjad said four of our players from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa comprising the currently national junior champion Hamza, Ihtisham, basit and Shoaib Riaz were also part of the top 16-members selected for the trials. President KP Badminton Association Zafar Ali Khan eulogised over the selection of Zohaib Khan, said that it is very vital for upcoming players to get international exposure and for this purpose, he disclosed that they have sent three badminton players, hailing from Swat valley, for a month-long professional training in Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur. The other three players' part of the national team comprising Ahmer Jalal, Sheroz Jameel and Shameer, Mian Sadaqat Shah said. He expressed the hope that the team would give good result in the Asian Junior Badminton Championship.
