129 arrested in crackdown against profiteers

The District administration has arrested 129 persons in crackdown against profiteers from different parts of the city. The arrested profiteers are included butchers, fresh milk sellers, fruit and vegetable vendors and grocers and they will be dealt as per law of the province.
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Additional Assistant Commissioners (AACs), Bashir Ahmad, Abdul Nabi and Syed Shah Zeb visited Sabzi and Fruit Mandi early in the morning and fixed prices of fruits and vegetables to provide maximum relief to the people.
Similarly, raids against profiteers in guise of consumers are continued and in this connection, AAC Ahmad Kamal conducted raids on different bazaars of Kohat Road and arrested 14 persons while AAC, Anwar-ul-Haq arrested 22 profiteers from Namak Mandi area of the city.
AAC Fazilat Jehan took action against profiteers in Bismillah, Khattak and Bilal Markets of Hayatabad and arrested 25 persons while Abdul Nabi nabbed 16 profiteers from Faqirabad area.
Similarly, AAC Imran Khan conducted raids in Tehkal and arrested 28 persons while Mir Khawas Khan Wazir arrested 24 profiteers from Bana Mari area.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Riaz Khan Mehsud has urged the people to pay prices to shopkeepers on the basis of the officially fixed price list and in case of violation and overcharging they should inform the Ramazan Complaint Cell of the DC Office with immediate effect.
