Six key commanders of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan's (TTP) Mehsud faction surrendered to security forces near the Afghan border in Kurram Agency. Former TTP chief Hakeemullah Mehsud's brother Ejaz Mehsud and uncle Khair Muhammad are among those who gave themselves up in the Shahidano Dhand area, security sources said adding that the terrorists who laid down arms in front of security forces in the Kurram Agency were hardened commanders of the militant organization's Shahryar Group.
According to security sources, the surrendered TTP commanders have been shifted to Dera Ismail Khan and will later be sent to a rehabilitation centre established by the Army in Swat for counselling. The terrorists announced they submitted themselves to the writ of the state.
